James E. Egner, age 70 of Collinsville, IL, born February 2, 1943 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away at 5:50 pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his residence.
He was retired after 40 years of service from Millennium Rail, which is the former St. Louis Refrigerator Car. He graduated from Cahokia High School in 1962.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Flora Bell nee Davy Egner.
He is survived by two sons, David (Tamatha) Egner of Novi, MI and James (Irene) Egner of Alton, IL,; nine grandchildren, Alexandria, Daniel, Courtney, Morgan, Madeline, Cole, Alexandria, Mallory and Megan; one great grandchild, Landon McFarland; and a sister Jo Ann (Jack) Reynolds of New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Memorial visitation will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL.
Memorial service will be at 11:30 am Thursday at the funeral home. Immediately following the service family and friends are invited to the VFW Post #5691, 1234 Vandalia Collinsville, IL where a reception will be held. Burial will be in Cache Chapel Cemetery in Ullin, IL.
