Cary M. Heflin, 45, passed away at 12:52 pm, Monday, December 2, 2013 at Anderson Hospital.
He was born in Alton, IL on May 18, 1968, the son of Gary Heflin and Theresa (Biesk) Nolte.
Cary was a brick layer for Local 1 out of St. Louis, MO for over 20 years. He liked fishing, watching football, was a Nascar fan, and enjoyed college and professional basketball. Cary was a great athlete himself growing up. He was a hard worker, truly loved life and was one of a kind. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his father, Gary (Michele) Heflin of Edwardsville; mother, Theresa (Biesk) Nolte of East Alton; one sister, Nicki (Dave) McCannon of Warrensburg, MO; one brother, Lance Heflin of Warrensburg; two step-siblings, Matthew (Christine) Crause of Glen Carbon; Elizabeth Heflin-Denis of Moro; eight nieces and nephews; Courtney (Michael) Wesley, Jennifer Zini, Amanda Panyik, Whitney Heflin, Fallon Heflin, Dylan McCannon, Jake McCannon and Michele Foster.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Tracey (Heflin) Panyik.
Visitation will be from 12 pm until time of service at 2pm on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Charles West will officiate.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
