Geraldine M. Yates, 92, of Belleville, IL, born Feb 26, 1922, in Woodburn, IL, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Swansea Rehab and Health Care in Swansea, IL. Geraldine retired from Augustine’s Restaurant as the Manager of the Kitchen. She started working as a waitress and then cook. In her lifetime she worked at numerous restaurants as a waitress and then cook. Cooking was one of her greatest joys. She was a giving person-always looking out for others. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank R. Welch and Randy Yates; parents, Arthur and Effie, nee Johnson, Thyer, Sr., daughter, Carolyn S. Rosner (nee Welch), sister, Lois, Weishaupt, brother, Arthur Thyer Jr. Surviving are her children, Rebecca (Dav) Bunch of Kissimmee, FL, Alice Wells of O’Fallon, IL, and Claudia McGrath of Australia, grandchildren, Annette (Tracy) Bryant, Kevin (Debbie) Bunch, Christopher (Maggie) Bunch, Brent (Toni) Turner, Jason (Janice) McGinthy, and Matthew (Irene) McGinthy, great grandchildren, Brianna Bunch, Spencer Bunch, Elliott Bunch, Alexa Turner, Dylan Turner, Jackson McGinthy, Molly Jean McGinthy, Grady McGinthy, and Zander McGinthy.
