Alfonso Paskus
Alfonso G. “Al” Paskus, 92, of Madison, Ill., born Jan. 5, 1924, in Madison, Ill., passed away at 3:21 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Granite City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Granite City, Ill.
Mr. Paskus worked as a clerk at Luria Brothers for 30 years. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Lodge and St. Mary’s Boosters, Madison AMVETS CFU 222 and was a World War II Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, nee Baltrusis, Paskus.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara A., nee Lucido, Paskus, whom he married on Sept. 9, 1950, at St. Joseph Church in Granite City; children, John Paskus of Granite City, Tom Paskus of Madison, Jeanne Denny of Collinsville, and Carol (Michael) Eaves of Granite City; grandchildren, Ryan (Dawn) Denny, Vincent Paskus, and Nicholas (Emily) Paskus; great-grandchildren, Eric Denny, Tara Denny, Eastin Paskus and Nolan Paskus; and his sister, Mary Ann Smolar.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary’s Church.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Madison, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
