Sharon Ann Tanner, 64, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home, in Highland Illinois. Born November 30, 1953 in Alton, she was the daughter of Beatrice Ellen (Lovell) Monroe of Godfrey and the late Gerald Monroe. Sharon proceeded in death by her ex-husband Thomas E. Tanner on December 10th, 2017. Sharon is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Ann (Vandygriff) Wallace of Florida and Wendy Jo (Vandygriff) Escamilla of Oakley, CA, and two sons, Justin David Fleming of Highland and Chad Russell Fleming of Hillsboro. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Jeffery Monroe of Texas, Brian Monroe of Godfrey, Michael Monroe of San Diego, CA, and two sisters, Ruthie Coontz of Texas and Nancy Miller of Godfrey. Sharon loved to play cards with friends and family members, listen to music, sing, write songs, camp for long weekends and take long motorcycle rides. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
