Michael “Mike” R. Schuette, age 70, went to be with the Lord at 12:15 pm on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, under the care of BJC Hospice.
He was born March 22, 1948 in Alton, IL, son of the late Roy W. & Wilma P. (Wilkening) Schuette.
Mike was employed at the Lutheran Layman’s League in St. Louis and was also a manager for Starbucks. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. He enjoyed hiking and fishing, planting flowers and working in the yard, and having fun with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving sister and brother-in-law, Bev (Roger) Rodeck of Hammond, IN, two nephews and their spouses, Jeff (Susan) Rodeck of Chesterton, IN and Mike (Jennifer) Rodeck of Darien, IL and three great-nieces and one great-nephew, Hanna, Kailee, Rebecca and Joey.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, April 30, 2018, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Visitation will continue from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL with Pastor Michael Walter. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
