Norman “Bud” Jackson, 81 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Cedar Hearst in Edwardsville, Illinois. Norman was born on October 14, 1936 in Cobden, Illinois; the son of the late Fred and Minnie (Smoot) Jackson. Norman was a retired road supervisor for the Madison County Transit System and had attended Grace Point Church in Granite City. Norman’s greatest love was his family and never missed an opportunity to spend time together. Norman will be remembered for the love of his family and all the special times they shared together. He is survived by and will be missed by his daughter; Connie (Tom) Phillips of Granite City; grandchildren, Joi (David) Svezia, Clint Phillips, Shane Phillips; great-grandchildren, Theron Svezia, Townes Svezia, Hunter Phillips and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other close family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his wife; Sharon L. (Braggs) Jackson, whom he married on August 23, 1955 and who passed away on June 21, 2018; his brothers, Clarence, Raymond, Eugene; sisters, Lucille, Elva, Louise. In celebration of Norman’s life, visitation will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
