Gladys Cremeens

Gladys D. Cremeens, 90 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Gladys was born on August 29, 1928 in Clay County, Arkansas; the daughter of the late Floyd and Lura (Pond) Cochran. Gladys had worked in the cafeteria at K-Mart in Granite City and was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Troy, Illinois. Gladys was a loving mother and wife who will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.

Gladys is survived by and will be missed by her son; David Cremeens (Elizabeth Mohrman) of Belleville, Illinois; daughter, Brenda Jo (Fred) Coffin of Fort Mohave, Arizona; grandchildren, Chris (Tara) Cremeens, Cary (Alison) Cremeens; half brother, Ron Thomas of Florissant, Missouri. Gladys loved and took great pleasure in her great-grandchildren; Copeli, Colbi Grace, Daniel, Caitlin, Grayson.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband; Edward E. Cremeens, whom she married on April 10, 1946; brother, James Cochran and half brother, Dan Thomas; infant daughter, Linda Sue Cremeens.

Visitation for Gladys will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Gladys’ life, services will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Bradshaw officiating.

Burial will follow at Buck Road Cemetery in Maryvillle, Illinois.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Spina Bifida Association, 1600 Wilson Blvd, Ste 800, Arlington, VA 22209.
