Erma Lawson, 87 of Granite City, Illinois passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, November 30, 2018.
Erma was born on January 18, 1931 in New Port, Arkansas; the daughter of the late Earl J. and Alies (Hardin) Reeves.
Erma was a homemaker and loving wife and mom who was a member of Clark Avenue Church of Christ in Granite City. Erma enjoyed her days of sewing, going to church and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.
Erma is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Thomas Lawson Sr., whom she married on June 23, 1948 in Hoxie, Arkansas; her children, Kim Stanley (Danette) Lawson, Sheila (Mike) Dunn, Thomas (Debra) Lawson Jr., Kathy (Bradley) Hart, Robert (Gina) Lawson; brother, Leonard (Nancy) Reeves; sister, Kitty (Bill) Fallas; sister-in-law, Louise Reeves; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by her sister-in-law; Joyce Reeves; brothers, Coy Reeves, Troy Reeves and 2 great-grandchildren.
In celebration of Erma’s life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.
Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
