Patricia Ann Waters, 69, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Tues. Dec. 11, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Oct. 6, 1949 in Granite City and was the daughter of the late Clayton and Melavee Lynn.
She and Jim L. Waters were married in Granite City in 1983 and he survives in Granite City.
Patricia was a published poet and also enjoyed writing children’s short stories as well as being an artist working in drawings and sketches.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 sons: James (Samantha) Smith of South Roxana, IL and Jason (Kara) Waters of Granite City; 2 grandchildren: Halie Smith and Jackson Waters; a great-grandson: Xzavier Marsh; 2 brothers: Jimmy Lynn of WA and Billy Lynn of Cahokia, IL; and 6 sisters: Debbie Lynn of WA, Melanie Lynn of Madison, IL, Michelle Sanders of St. Louis, Bourbon Lynn of TX, Sharon Bazzell of Granite City and Karen Sue Sanders of Granite City.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marlon Becker and a sister, Sara Esparza.
Memorial visitation will be Sun. Dec. 16, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 3:00 p.m. at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory.
