Jeffrey Epperson

Jeffrey Allen Epperson, of Granite City, Illinois passed into eternal rest on Friday, January 4, 2019 at his home.

He was born October 29, 1966 in Granite City, a son of Thomas H. Epperson Jr. of Troy and the late Catherine (Foiles) Greenman.

He married Hollie E. (Hooker) Epperson on March 14, 1998 in Granite City and she survives.

He had worked in utility and maintenance and did side work in home remodeling projects.

He had a love of music and enjoyed playing the guitar and also loved nature and his days fishing.

His spirit continues and will be carried on in the amazing smiles, brilliant blue eyes and warm, huge hearts of his children and granddaughter who he absolutely cherished and adored. He loved his children and grandbaby with all that he had.

In addition to his beloved wife and father, he is survived by his stepmother, Carol Epperson of Troy; three children, Cadi Epperson of Granite City, Emily Epperson of Granite City and Jacob Epperson of Granite City; his granddaughter, Aubrey Epperson; three sisters, Jenna Epperson of Troy, Jennifer (Eddie) Adams of Troy and Jessica Epperson of Collinsville; grandparents, Mary and Franklin Hinckle of Troy; two aunts, Chris Waxelman of St. Louis and Mary Jean Shands of Troy; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and many friends.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Thomas “Pa” and Juanita “Ma” Epperson Sr.

The profound sadness and grief in the loss of the invariably unique, exceptionally funny and immensely warmhearted soul that our father, papa, husband, son and brother has always been is unbearable. Our lives and hearts will never be the same. We will love and miss you forever.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Charles West.

Memorials may be made to the Epperson family or to a charity of one’s choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.
