Leland J. “Lee” Pollard, 63, passed away at 9:21 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Granite Nursing and Rehab Center in Granite City.
Born June 29, 1955 in Alton, he was the son of James and Flossie (McCrary) Pollard.
Lee was a riverboat pilot for Economy for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, boating, hunting mushrooms and farming. He had attended Fosterburg Baptist Church. Lee always made the best of every situation and definitely had fun. He would gladly help anyone who needed it.
A family man, he loved his children, Jason Pollard of Collinsville, Jayme (Johnny) Law of Wood River, Cortney Pollard of East Alton, and Jennifer Schoen of Bethalto. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Jayda Law and Johnny Law, Jr., Skylar Davis, Ketzaly Salvador, and Kayela, Brendan and Brett Schoen. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Mayo and his mother, Flossie Pollard, both of McDonough, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial visitation will be at Paynic Home for Funerals on Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Troy Crain will officiate.
Inurnment will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Fosterburg Baptist Church.
