William A. “Aaron” Curtis, 84, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at his home. He was born January 7, 1935 in Humbolt, Tennessee, a son of the late Clay and Mary Lou (Potts) Curtis. He married Barbara G. (Mitchell) Curtis on February 16, 1985 in Granite City and she survives. He retired in 1996 after 44 years of dedicated service as a steelworker, working for General Steel and S.C.I. The United States Air Force veteran proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a former member of the First Southern Baptist Church in South Roxana and enjoyed his days of hunting. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by five children; two step-children; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; a brother; a sister; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson and a brother and sister.
In celebration of his life, a graveside service will be held at the Lewis Cemetery in Cumberland City, Tennessee on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Stephen Cathey officiating. Full Military Honors will be rendered.
