Julia L. Reaves, age 73 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Highland, IL.
She was born on July 25, 1945, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Victor and Dorothea (nee Middleton) Wiegand.
She was a member of Marine American Legion Aux. (Past President).
Julie was born in Highland, IL and attended Triad High School. After her marriage she stayed home with her children until they were grown. In 1970 she became a Licensed Beautician. She had a shop in Marine, IL and later operated Hair Care in Highland, IL for 30 some years. She also worked at Chet and Rose’s Bar in Marine and Ed & Millie’s Tavern in Highland. In 2017 she and Kevin purchased Ed & Millie’s and have been running it ever since. Julie loved playing Bingo, Shopping, and doing crafts. She loved the holiday season and always decorated her home and business. She enjoyed meeting and talking with friends, family and strangers. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time and being with all her grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Highland VFW Hall after 12:00 PM on Saturday for a luncheon and time of reflection .
