Laverne Cheryl (Meyerhoff) Rippy, 62, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 3:44 a.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2019 with her loving family at her side. She was born November 24, 1956 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Russell Emmett and Rutha Jane (Pegg) Budke. She married Johnny Rippy on May 30, 1994 in Stewart County, Tennessee and he passed away in August 2008. She had retired in 2018 from The Law Office of Shari Murphy in Wood River after several years of dedicated service as a paralegal. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Granite City and enjoyed traveling and needlepoint. She cherished her grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Meyerhoff and Dana Carroll of Granite City; six grandchildren, Kaylah Meyerhoff, Savannah Meyerhoff, Gia Carroll, C.J. Meyerhoff Jr., Wyatt Meyerhoff and Alex Carroll; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joyce Budke of Tampa, Florida; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Elaine Adams of Dover, Tennessee, Linda and Doug Roy of Granite City and her twin, Lorretta and Steve Rippy of Dade City, Florida; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony “Tony” Budke and brother-in-law, Wayne Adams. In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Illinois on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
