Glenagean Olson, 86, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.
She was born March 21, 1933 in Granite City, Illinois, a daughter of the late Fred and Ruby (Lindsey) Rice. She married James T. Olson on September 29, 1953 in Granite City and he passed away on January 10, 2004. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker and a faithful member of Solid Rock Free Methodist Church in Pontoon Beach. She was active through the years with White Shrine, Daughter’s of the Nile and Eastern Star. She enjoyed her days of being a member of the Red Hatters and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Pat and Coleen Olson of Edwardsville and Michael and Sheila Olson of Granite City; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Bree O’Dell, Amee and Joe Stewart, Kera Olson, Anthony and Amanda Jarrett, Amber Olson, Jessie Olson and Nathan Steinmeyer; four great grandchildren, Hailee O’Dell, Makaila O’Dell, Emily Jarrett and Jacob Stewart; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Burris and two brothers, Wayne Rice and Fred Rice Jr.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
