Richard G. Balogh, 86 of Maryville, Illinois passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2019, at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland.
Richard was born on February 21, 1933, in Granite City; the son of the late James and Doris (Mueller) Balogh. Richard was a roll grinder at Granite City Steel for 42 years and proudly served his country in the United States Army. In his free time, Richard enjoyed woodworking and making clocks. Most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Richard will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he shared with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Nadean (Smith) Balogh, whom he married on May 9, 1958; daughters, Lisa (Dave) Parizon of Troy, Illinois, Kim (Cliff) Moran of Granite City, Illinois; grandchildren, Sarah (Chris) Wallace, Joseph Moran, Scott Parizon, Brian Parizon; great-grandchild, Asher Wallace and many other close family members and friends.
In celebration of Richard’s life, a memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. Memorial donations are suggested to Shriners Hospital.
