Coleman V. “Cole” Beatty, 81, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Granite Nursing and Rehabilitation in Granite City. He was born January 22, 1938 in Granite City, a son of the late Coleman L. Beatty and the late Ethel (Fleet) Long. He married Patricia C. “Pat” (Jones) Beatty on June 14, 1959 at the First Baptist Church in Granite City and she passed away on November 20, 2007. He was the owner and operator of CBC Pools and Spas for many years. He was a former member of the Operating Engineers Local #520 and enjoyed golfing and fishing in his younger days. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Deanna and Barry Gurney of Granite City and Allayna Carnahan of Granite City; a son, Curtis Beatty of Granite City; seven grandchildren, DeLaynie, Brandon, Angel, Cody, Cierra, Nathan and Dawson; three great grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob and Kora; a sister, Darlene Nicholas of Troy, Illinois; other extended family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Duane Beatty; a grandson, Christopher Moore and a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Bev Thomas.
In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Greg Stafford officiating.
