Melvina Eileen Kuykendall, 79, of Maryville and formerly of Granite City and O’Fallon, Illinois passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Cambridge House in Maryville, Illinois. She was born July 5, 1940 in East St. Louis, Illinois, a daughter of the late William Otis and Donal (Dunham) Wiggins. She married Ralph Kuykendall on January 7, 1961 in East St. Louis and he passed away on January 2, 2004. She had worked many years as a bookkeeper in real estate. She was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church and formerly a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending TOPS, working with crafts, puzzles and quilting. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Michael and Denise Elmore, Nancy and Steve Malcom, Tom Elmore, Leonard Elmore, Greg and Sue Wiggins and Bonnie and Liz Elmore; many great nieces; great nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three infant brothers and three brothers.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Unity Baptist Church, 2500 St. Claire Avenue in Granite City on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon with Reverend Jarad Corzin officiating.
