August E. “Babe” Schuette Jr., age 97 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Faith Care Center in Highland, IL.
He was born June 14, 1922, in Staunton, IL, the son of August and Anna (nee Albrecht) Schuette Sr.
On February 20, 1943, he married Dorothy M. Slaby at Staunton, Illinois, She passed away on October 28, 2018.
He was a member of United Church of Christ of Marine. He was also a member of Madison County Farm Bureau and Loyal Order of the Moose.
August was born near Staunton, IL. He worked on a farm during World War II. Worked at Madison Service Company for 33 years, retiring in 1986. Enjoyed fishing, playing cards, maintaining his rental property, and helped his son build houses. Babe was a true “Handyman”. In his younger years loved traveling with his wife all over the United States.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at United Church of Christ of Marine in Marine, IL, with Rev. Philip Kershner officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
