Charlotte R. Miller, 87 of Granite City, Illinois passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Rosewood care center in Edwardsville.
Charlotte was born on September 21, 1932 in Elco, Illinois; the daughter of the late Samuel and Audrey (Jordan) Hazelwood. Charlotte was a cafeteria cook for the Granite City School District and in her free time she enjoyed her days of baby sitting her great-grandchildren. Charlotte will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.
Charlotte is survived by and will be missed by her son; Rudy Miller of Granite City; step-son, Jeff (Brenda) Miller of Granite City; granddaughters, Katie Miller (Nathan Dillard) of Granite City, Jackie Miller of Granite City; great-grandchildren, Jerzie Brooks, Logan Gerkin; sisters, Dimple Zeiger of Dallas, Texas, Carlene Givens of Granite City; sister-in-law, Violet Hazelwood of Fredericktown, Missouri and numerous nieces, nephews and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband; Jerry D. Miller, whom she married in June of 1963 and her brother, Paul Hazelwood.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Charlotte’s life, services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Nameoki Road in Granite City. Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
