Roberta F. Darragh, 89, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 8:27 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born January 3, 1931, in North Venice, Illinois, a daughter of the late Claude Ray and Dollie Frances (Varner) Corbett. She enjoyed her days of raising her children and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with family and friends. She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Granite City for many years where she served as a Sunday school teacher and youth director and played the piano. In her later years, she attended the Apostolic Church of Reverend K.V. Reeves. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Thomas and Eunice Darragh of Granite City and Gary Wayne Darragh of Longview, Texas; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, James Corbett of Oregon; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Charley and Joshua Darragh; three brothers, Gilbert, Rudolph and Harold Corbett and two sisters, Fern Stephens and Geraldine Rogers. In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, January 13, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mark Maynard officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Glaucoma Society and may be accepted at the funeral home.
