Shirley M. Wise, 79 of Collinsville, Illinois formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born on April 26, 1940 in Turrell, Arkansas; the daughter of the late Charles “Charlie” and Iduma (Short) Parris. Shirley was a Nurse’s Aid at Colonnades Nursing Home in Granite City. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she will be remembered for her loving heart and all the special times they spent together.
She is survived by and will be missed by her children; Larry and Vicki Ottinger of Granite City, Mary Baugus of Granite City, Sherry and Clinton Dotson of Bixby, Missouri, Hope and Steven Dietz of Caseyville; daughter-in-law, Cathie Ottinger and all her brothers and sisters; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband; Charles L. Wise Jr. and her son; Terry Ottinger.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Shirley’s life, services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Amsden officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City.
