William David Robertson, 74, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Tues. Feb. 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born June 23, 1945 in Fulton, KY to the late William Anderson Robertson and Mary Dorothy (Latham) Robertson Scribner.
On July 17, 1965, he and Barbara Ann Kalips were married in Granite City. She survives in Granite City.
Mr. Robertson retired from Schnucks as a trailer mechanic. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the NRA, Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited. He was The Champion Fish Catcher at Kinkaid Lake.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Felicia (David) Miller of Mitchell, IL and Wendy (Charles) Mosby of Edwardsville, IL; 6 grandchildren: Steven, Eric, Apiffany, Melanie, Nicholas and Cheyenne; a brother: Jerry Michael (Candi) Scribner; a sister: Carolyn Jane (Jeff) Johnson of Collinsville, IL; his longtime childhood friend: Harry (Diane) LaPointe of New Athens, IL; his ‘girlfriend’: Lisa Ann Kalips of Pontoon Beach, IL; and his beloved dog: Fisher.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: William David Robertson Jr.; and a brother: Charles Robertson.
He made a gift of his organs and tissues through Mid-America Transplant to help others.
The family will hold a service at a later date.
