Judith A. “Judy” Gaughan, 71 of Granite City passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 20, 2020.
Judy was born on November 22, 1948 in Granite City; the daughter of the late Robert O. and Mary Ann (Miller) Gaughan. Judy was a payroll administrator of the St. Louis City public schools and was well known for her unique personality and the way she could tell a story. Judy loved all animals, especially dogs and gave her time and talents to rescue dogs. She had a huge heart and loved people and would do anything to help a person in need. Most of all she loved her family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Judy is survived by and will be missed by her brother; Robert E. Gaughan of Granite City; niece, Krystal and Garod McMillian of Troy, IL; great-nieces, Mackenzie McMillian of Troy, IL, Emmy Mackenzie of Troy, IL; special cousins, Rosemarie and Mike Heath, Lindsay and Tom Rollins, Matthew and Nikole Heath, Kathy and Tony Phifer, and numerous other close family members and friends.
In celebration of Judy’s life, a family memorial service is being planned for a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to Heartland Hospice. Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City is serving the family.
