Carol Elaine Gauen, 66, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 3:16 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at her home. She was born June 6, 1953 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Wallace R. and Iris J. (Rogers) Gauen. Carol retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed spending time with her close friend and companion, Dale Mosely, her sisters, nieces and nephews. Carol enjoyed life, vacations, family gatherings, holidays and spending time with those she loved. She was a longtime and faithful member of Third Baptist Church (now Unity Baptist Church) in Granite City. Carol was a very loving, caring person and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her dear friend, Dale, she is survived by two loving sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Denny Cline of Granite City and Janet and Earl Drennan of Granite City. She was a proud aunt to Andrea Cline, Alison Priest, Wallace and Kathryn Drennan, Lauren and Ryan Beck and great aunt to Liam Priest, Lukas Trombly, Mason Beekman, Aubrey Beck, Kennedy Beck, Evan Drennan and Owen Drennan; other extended family and many friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when we can all gather together. Memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church in Granite City and may be accepted at the funeral home.
