Rosella Poarch

Rosella Ann Poarch, 65, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 6:05 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

She was born March 13, 1955 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Robert and Ann Poarch.  Rosella enjoyed her years working as a bartender and cherished the people she knew from working at El Gatos in Granite City.  She had also worked in apartment building maintenance through the years.  She loved playing bingo and was known for always being a star at karaoke.  She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and many friends.  She is survived by her former husband, Bill Wigner of Granite City; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary and Susan Thompson Jr. of Granite City and Jessie Thompson of Fulton, Missouri; a daughter, Tammy Poarch of Granite City; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister, Mickie Poarch of Granite City; other extended family and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gary Thompson Sr. whom passed away on December 27, 2002; a brother, Robert Poarch and two sisters, Betty Mae Singer and Becky Thompson.

Rosella deserves a beautiful tribute.  However, during these uncertain times, a private family service will be held at Irwin Chapel in Granite City.  A private burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.  Memorials may be made to the family or to a charity of one’s choice and may be accepted at the funeral home.  www.irwinchapel.com
