John Dale Kipp, 80, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 1:12 p.m. Fri. May 1, 2020 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis, MO.
He was born Mar. 7, 1940 in Chester, IL to the late Frieda Ella (Wingerter) Garber and John Henry Kipp.
John was a U.S. Navy veteran and a meat cutter for 22 years and then retired from Granite City High School as a custodian for 15 years. He was Lutheran, a member of the Eagles and loved to play softball and horseshoes.
He is survived by 2 children: Mandie (Bryan) Schulte of Edwardsville, IL and Curtis Walker of Granite City; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister: Joyce Giebert of Worden, IL.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Etta Fay Hawk.
