Kurt Bronnbauer

Kurt Charles Bronnbauer, 50, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at his home.  He was born May 10, 1970 in Granite City, a son of the late Alfred Karl Bronnbauer and the late Rosalie (Broyles) Bronnbauer Atwater.  He had worked at Ravanelli’s in Granite City and Orlando’s in St. Louis with many years of service as a chef.  Kurt loved music and his life was full of sharing his knowledge of music with others.  He had an extensive collection of music and was a buff on music trivia.  He also enjoyed old movies and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.  He is survived by a daughter, Sadie Bronnbauer of Belleville; a son, Wolfgang Bronnbauer of Collinsville; a brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Michelle Bronnbauer of Normal; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Bruce Gerfen of Collinsville and Karen and Craig Nonn of Granite City; his fiancé, Hannah Bragg of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

In addition to his beloved parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Christy Bronnbauer and grandparents, Edward Broyles Sr. and Connie Wheeler.

Kurt deserves a beautiful tribute.  However during these uncertain times, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Missouri Network for Opiate Reform and Recovery and may be accepted at monetwork.org or at the funeral home.  Irwin Chapel of Granite City in charge of arrangements.  www.irwinchapel.com
