Carol McCoy

Carol Sue McCoy, 72, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 6:19 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.  She was born February 19, 1948 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Erwin and Mildred (Keel) Stengel.  She married Ronnie Lee McCoy Sr. on June 4, 1966 in Collinsville and he passed away on June 17, 2010.  She was a faithful member of the former Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Granite City and now Love Fellowship Outreach Ministries in Granite City.  She loved attending the H.O.P.E. widows luncheons through the years.  Carol enjoyed her days of fishing,

cross-stitching and making blankets for her grandchildren.  She cherished her family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.  She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Cindy McCoy of Mitchell, Ronnie and Jennifer McCoy Jr. of Florissant, Missouri and John and Erica McCoy of Granite City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Chuck Morris of Granite City and Lisa and Tom Wojcik of Roodhouse; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Karen Stengel of Greenville; three aunts; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. 

In celebration of her life, a private visitation and funeral service will be held at Irwin Chapel in Granite City on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 with Reverend Matthew Ware officiating.  Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be accepted at the funeral home.  You may view the funeral service livestream on her obituary page at www.irwinchapel.com
