Mary Lou Paterson, 84 of Granite City passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Liberty Village in Maryville
Mary was born on October 11, 1935 in Madison, IL; the daughter of the late Harvey and Louise (Fowler) Arnhart. Mary retired from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Granite City from the medical records department and in her free time, Mary loved to spend time with her family and friends. Mary will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together.
Mary is survived by and will be missed by her children; Vicky and David Cahill of Jacksonville, FL, Richard and Tracey Paterson of Granite City, Scott and Amy Paterson of Granite City and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband; Donald F. Paterson, whom she married on January 30, 1954.
In celebration of Mary’s life, a private family visitation and funeral will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City with Pastor Ron McGrew officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
