Ruby I. Bathon, 92 of Granite City passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Ruby was born on February 20, 1928 in Fancy Farm, KY; the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Lena (Hayden) Buckman. Ruby was a homemaker and mom who loved to take care of her family. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Madison and in her free time Ruby enjoyed her days of gardening and spending time with her family and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Ruby is survived by and will be missed by her daughters; Mary Ann and Richard Bledsoe of Granite City, Jane and Phil Boyer of Granite City, Debbie and Clyde Boyer; grandchildren, Julie and Jeff Mastroianni, Kendra and Mark Miller, Melanie and Kenny Watts, Crystal and Matt Coleman; great-grandchildren, Anna, Grace, Nikki, Mackenzie, Jackson; brother, Ed Buckman; sister, Stella Harris.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her brothers; James William Buckman, Robert Leon Buckman, Charles Hillary Buckman, Joseph Louis Buckman, Paul E. Buckman; sisters, Mary Ruth Scott, Mary Ann Buckman, Dorothy Marie Otey Rule.
In celebration of Ruby’s life, a private family service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 with Pastor Mike Rayson officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
