Marie Lowder, 95 of Granite City, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at University Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Edwardsville.
Marie was born on August 14, 1925 in East St. Louis, IL; the daughter of the late Louis and Eithel (Wilder) Lamonte Beeler. Marie was a dental assistant in Alton, IL and a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Granite City. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and in her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Marie will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family.
Marie is survived by and will be missed by her brother; Ronald Beeler of Granite City; niece, Diane and Ray Jones of Granite City; nephew, Greg and Teresa Beeler of Troy; 2 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews; 1 great-great-niece and 1 great-great-nephew as well as many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lowder.
In celebration of Marie’s life, a private family visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Rayson officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorial donations are suggested to Wounded Warriors.
