Phyllis Kay Sherman, 69 of Granite City passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
Phyllis was born on April 8, 1951 in Granite City and later became a nurse at Stearns Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granite City. In her free time Phyllis enjoyed her days of online shopping, social media, especially being on Facebook and her daily conversations with her sister, Jan. Her greatest joy was her family and her grandchildren and she will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Phyllis is survived by and will be missed by her husband of over 30 years; Paul Sherman; mom, Dolores (Davis) Townsend of Granite City; sons, Michael and Andrea Barton of Bourbon, MO, Jason and Angela Barton of Bourbon, MO, Eric Barton and Cheryl Price of Granite City; sister, Jan and Ronnell Hildreth of Granite City; grandchildren, Christopher Barton, Jonathon Barton, Nathanyl Barton, Ashley Burks, Jason Barton Jr., Brent Bunton; great-grandchildren, Maximus, Johnna, Kadence, Octavia, Mason and her doggie, Cody.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her dad, Frank Townsend.
In celebration of Phyllis’s life, a private family visitation will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Eddy Brown officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
