Norma J. Frost, 89 of Granite City passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Stearns Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granite City.
Norma was born on May 4, 1931 in Pomona, IL; the daughter of the late Kenneth Edward and Mable Lucille (Jackson) Gearhart. Norma was mom, wife and homemaker and a member of Bethel Chapel in Granite City where she was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Norma is survived by and will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law; Marsha and Frank Martinez of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren, Andrew and Cynthia Martinez of Arlington, TX, Alexander Martinez of Mansfield, TX, Nicole and Charles Kessler of Granite City; great-grandchildren, Ari Martinez, Adelynne Martinez, Amirah Martinez, Abigail Martinez, Dylan Jones, Miaya Kessler, Mikah Kessler, Easton Kessler; sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Edgar Trexler; sister, Faye Hand; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara Gearhart.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband; Billy Frost, whom she married on June 5, 1949 and her daughter, Wanda Chandler.
In celebration of Norma’s life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Brimm officiating at Bethel Chapel, 2445 Ohio Ave. in Granite City. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to Bethel Chapel. Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City is serving the family.
