Patrick Spivey

Patrick W. Spivey, 46 of Madison, IL passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Patrick was born on July 10, 1974 in Centerville, IL; the son of the late Carlton and Shirley (Statler) Spivey. Patrick was a proud volunteer fireman and dispatcher for the Madison Fire Department; 911 dispatcher for the city of Madison and also served as a supervisor dispatcher for the Belleville Police Department and was a dispatcher for US Steel. Patrick was a well known outdoorsman who was an expert trout fisherman and loved to camp and deer hunt. Patrick loved his family and never missed a chance to take trips with his kids, visiting almost half of all major league baseball stadiums. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved to watch and cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs and he always supported his hometown hockey team, the St. Louis Blues. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and Patrick will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.

Patrick is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Linda (Patton) Spivey, whom he married on December 8, 2017; his children, Briana Spivey of Belleville, IL, Miah Spivey and Damion Stokley of Belleville, IL, Gavin Spivey and Hannah Grotsky of Fairview Heights, IL, Nathan Gray and Emily Cerkoski of Madison, IL, Andrew Gray of Madison, IL; brothers, Mike and Lisa Spivey of Mitchell, IL, John Spivey of Collinsville, IL and many other close family members and friends.

In celebration of Patrick’s life, a memorial celebration is being planned for a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the Madison Illinois Fire Department, 1800 3rd St. Madison, IL 62060. Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City is serving the family.
