Alice Evelyn Williams, 87, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 7:52 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at her home. She was born December 27, 1933 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Joseph Watson and Cordie (Murphy) Dowdy.
She married Cecil E. Williams on August 8, 1975 in Wood River and he survives. Alice retired from Tri-City Grocery after 30 years of dedicated service as a cashier. She enjoyed the monthly get-togethers with her friend’s group and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband of 45 years, she is survived by a son, Kelly C. (Cindy) Hodges Jr. of Edwardsville; a daughter, Kim (Ron) Parente of Granite City; two stepsons, Dale (Cathy) Williams of Salem, Missouri and Mike (Barb) Williams of Pontoon Beach; seven grandchildren, Ronnie, Kassie, Aaron, Jeff, Janice, Kyle and Zach; four great grandchildren, Jason, Kayleigh, Gabriel and Serenity; a sister, Pauline Bell of Granite City; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Mary Kiselka, Dean Phelps, Frances Jarvis, Charles Dowdy, Carl Dowdy, Joe Dowdy and Newt Dowdy.
