Albert Walliser

Albert G. Walliser, 85, of Granite City, Illinois was granted his angel wings and entered in Heaven at 7:58 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his home with his final days spent with family and friends. Albert was born on September 14, 1935 in O’Fallon, Illinois, a son of the late Albert and Violet Walliser.

He married Joyce (Brooks) Walliser on June 18, 1955 in Maryville and she passed away on December 21, 2012. He later married Mary (Seger) Walliser of February 6, 2016 in Granite City and she survives. He had retired in 2002 from Federal Reserve Bank in St. Louis and had also worked at American Steel for ten years, Nameoki Township and Piney Farms. He was a faithful member of Calvary Life Church in Granite City where he cherished his church family and would not miss a Sunday unless there was an emergency. He loved his days of fishing, playing ball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved his little fur babies, Lucky, Daisy and Little Bit. He cherished his family more than life itself and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by four daughters, Karen Elliott of Trenton, Sheila (Rick) Marzuco of Granite City, Sandy (Ben) Pilcic of Bunker Hill and Becky (Todd) Walliser of Granite City; a son, Gary (Anita) Walliser of Granite City; four stepchildren, Paul (Tara) McEntyre of Granite City, Connie (Terry) Clevenger, Becky (Michael) Hutchins and Terry (Shannon) McEntyre; 33 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; other extended family and friends.

In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dennis Elliott; two brothers, Herbert and Robert Walliser; two sisters, Dorothy Walliser and Bernice Tavanier and two great grandchildren, Angelina Perryman and Da’Marius Scott. The Walliser family wishes to extend their gratitude for everyone’s love and support through this difficult time.

He will be dearly missed by all that knew him and we know Heaven has gained a true angel.

In celebration of his life, a visitation will be held at Calvary Life Church, 4650 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, February 2, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mark Maynard officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Maryville.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
