Carl Fisher

Carl E. Fisher, 73, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 1:22 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at his home. He was born May 15, 1947, in West Frankfort, Illinois, a son of the late Reverend Austin O. and Carrie Evelyn (Tellor) Fisher.

He married Eileen M. Davis Fisher on October 31, 2017, at Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville and she survives.

He had worked at Ranken Technical College as a computer operator. He was a faithful member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church and was a former member of Suburban Baptist Church in Granite City where he had served as a Deacon through the years. He had a love for music and spent much of his early adult life singing trio along with his parents at many churches throughout the area. He also enjoyed his days of bowling and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a stepson, Paul Davis of Granite City; a stepdaughter, Ruth (Scott) McCormick of St. Peters, Missouri; two step grandchildren, Zachary and Christian Davis; a brother, Roy L. (Donna) Fisher of Maryville; two sisters-in-law, Geralyn Fisher of Warrenton, Missouri and Ruby Thomas of Granite City; nieces and nephews, Paula (David) Parker, Marsha (Steve) Lagree, Donald (Kim Scharringhausen) Fisher, Debbie Vinson, Kenneth Fisher and Richard Ameiss; other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Delores A. (Bob) Ameiss, and two brothers, Donald G. Fisher and Kenneth R. Fisher.

A private family service will be held at Irwin Chapel in Granite City on Friday, February 5, 2021, with Reverend Robert Strong.

Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be made to Meadow Heights Baptist Church.
