Jason M. Gourley, age 37 of Highland, IL, died Sunday, January 31, 2021, at his home in Highland, IL.
He was born on Saturday, December 31, 1983, in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Michael and Mary (nee Meffert) Gourley.
On Saturday, February 19, 2011, he married Rachael A. Gourley, nee Luckett, at Michael’s Restaurant, Highland, IL, who survives.
He was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL; Consistory Board at Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL; former board member of Community Link, Breese, IL and Friends Board at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL.
He was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and grew up in Highland, IL. He went to St. Paul Catholic School, Highland, and graduated from Mater Dei Catholic High School, Breese, IL, in 2002. He later graduated from Southern Illinois Law School, Carbondale, IL, in 2009. He was an attorney and a partner with Donovan Rose Nester PC: Law Firm, Belleville, IL. He loved his children and enjoyed long-distance biking, gardening, studying, and learning to speak German. He ran a marathon in Kansas, was training for a triathlon and a goal was to climb all the Colorado 14ers.

Gourley, Highland, IL; Mother – Mary Beth Gourley (nee Meffert), Highland, IL; Sister – Lauren Gourley, Saint Louis, MO; Sister – Erin (Jay) Fyalka, Springfield, IL; Maternal Grandmother – Mary Audeline Meffert (nee Payne), Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by: Paternal Grandfather – Walter R. Gourley; Paternal Grandmother – Gertraude M. Gourley; Maternal Grandfather – Otis J. Meffert, Sr.
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Private Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 03, 2021, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Rev. Eric Quinney-Burnard, Pastor, Evangelical United Church of Christ, Highland, IL, officiating.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
