Ronnie Dean McDonough, 53, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Creve Coeur, MO.
Born Apr. 21, 1967 in Alton, he was a son of Herbert Theodore McDonough, Sr. and Sherry Lee (Melow) McDonough.
Ronnie and his wife Valerie were married in Edwardsville on Feb. 15, 2004. She survives in Granite City.
The U.S. Marine Corps veteran worked as a construction contractor. He loved learning new things about the construction business. He enjoyed fishing, and was a passionate fan of the Grateful Dead, attending many of their shows in person. There wasn’t much that Ronnie didn’t like, but he did hate ‘stupid people’.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Sherry McDonough of Wood River; his children, Brittany Sunshine (Ryan) Meredith of Wood River, Jessica (Thomas) Maroon of Alton, Christopher Hall of Springfield, IL, and Nichlaus Hall of Alton; seven grandchildren, Mason, Jackson and Carson Meredith, Landon and Fiona Maroon, and Julian and Amelia Hall; his brother, Ted (Kari) McDonough, Jr. of San Diego, CA; and numerous other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
