Edward N. Streicher Jr. 62 of Granite City passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at St. Louis University Hospital.
Edward was born on February 2, 1959 in Libertyville, IL; the son of the late Edward N. Streicher Sr. and Betty Courtright. Edward gave over 36 years to Ameren Illinois and in January 2013 became a gas technical services supervisor. In his free time Edward loved to be outside camping, especially if the weather was not too hot. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and his grandchildren and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Edward is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Elaine (Macko) Streicher, whom he married on September 5, 1992; his children, Tony and Crystal Streicher of Granite City, Jennifer and Newton Tilson of Granite City, Brooke Streicher of Granite City; grandchildren, Keaton and Keilyn Tilson, Payton Tilson, Ashton Tilson, Aniston Tilson, Reid Komoromi, Violet Komoromi; great-grandchild, Nazareth Tilson; sister, Deb Berg; brothers, Walt and Christy Streicher, Tim and Brent Streicher and many other close family members and friends.
A private visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Private funeral services will follow on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ron McGrew officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Red Cross and will be accepted at the funeral home.
