Karla M. Butts, 58, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at her home.
She was born May 20, 1962, in Orlando, Florida, a daughter of Doris R. (Ramsey) Butts of Granite City and the late Edgar L. Butts.
She was employed at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City with 15 years of dedicated and loving service as a certified nurse assistant. She enjoyed traveling and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Jessica Bailey of Granite City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marsha and Leonard Collins of Oregon and Carolyn Wayt of Belleville; a brother, Matthew Butts of Cahokia; a niece, Melanie Wayt of Belleville; brother-in-law, Anthony Wayt of Belleville; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of her life, a memorial gathering will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, March 6, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. www.irwinchapel.com
