Patricia E. Gantt 77, of Granite City, IL, born October 19, 1943 in Granite City, IL died at 2:58 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021.
Pat was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Granite City, IL where she was involved with Drama Camp and Vacation Bible School. She worked at Illinois Central driving a school bus for 48 years. She truly enjoyed all the children she transported over the years. She was a Shop Steward and on the Executive Board of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 788.
Pat loved her family more than anything, especially her grandkids and great grandchild. She will be missed by all her knew her.
Pat was preceded in death by the love of her life, Babe, daughter Laura, nee Gantt, Lalich; her parents William and Marcella nee Kline, Noud; brothers William Noud, A.H. Tim Noud, and sister Eleanor (Bob) Knight.
Surviving are her daughters, Katherine (Lance) Hunt, of Granite City, IL, Gail (Steve) Graham of Edwardsville, IL, Carol Gantt of Granite City, IL; son-in-law Michael Lalich of Granite City, IL; grandchildren Allyson (Kyle) Hinterser of St. Charles, MO, Jonathan Graham of Waterloo, IL; Taylor Hunt of Elmhurst, IL, Ryan Hunt of Granite City, IL, Rachael and Megan Lalich of Granite City, IL; sisters-in-law Josie Noud of Granite City, IL and Mary Noud of Edwardsville, IL; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Babe Gantt Scholarship 327 S. Fillmore Street, Edwardsville, IL 62025; First United Presbyterian Drama Camp 2160 Delmar Avenue, Granite City, IL 62040 or to the donor’s choice.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home in Granite City, IL.
Funeral service will be private. There will be a QR code to scan at the visitation to view a live stream of the service. As much as we would love for all of Pat’s friends and family to attend the service, it is not possible due to COVID precautions. During the visitation, COVID restrictions will be followed. Masks will be required and not provided. Please maintain social distancing and keep the line moving. Interment in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
