Bonnie L. Stolarski, age 76, of Maryville, IL, born July 26, 1944 in Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Liberty Village Care Center.
Bonnie was a 1962 graduate of Collinsville High School and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. She was a retired elementary school teacher in the Collinsville Unit #10 school district, having taught at KreItner and then Webster School where she loved teaching children to read. She was a life-long member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville and an avid, life-long bridge, golf, and tennis player. Bonnie belonged to a book club, enjoyed the Symphony, Union Avenue Opera, traveling, and especially being with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Grace (nee Vogt) Blumberg.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Stolarski, whom she married on August 10, 1968; a daughter, Anne (Ron) Lacy of Edwardsville, IL; a son, John (Emily) Stolarski of Glen Carbon, IL; two grandchildren, Nick and Alex Lacy; a brother, Fred (Cindy) Blumberg of Freeburg, IL; a sister, Jerilyn Calvin-Howard of Maryville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.at the church, with Rev. Jennifer Sowell Glover and Rev. Katie Jo Bielke officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville IL.
Memorials may be made to Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 to go towards the Bonnie Stolarski Memorial Book Fund.
