Bill R. Spradling, age 80 of Granite City, IL, born February 22, 1941, in Pocahontas, AR, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
Bill retired after 28 years of service from NWS Railway. He enjoyed crappie fishing and deer hunting but most of all loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sonnie and Otie (nee Wilkerson) Spradling; two brothers: Harvey and Arthur Spradling; and three sisters: Martha Spradling, Earnestine Daily, and Dorothy Robinson.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 61 years, Betty (nee Jennings) Spradling, whom he married October 8, 1960; two daughters: Deborah (Bill) Roth of Collierville, TN and Melinda (Brian) Hedger of Troy, IL; two granddaughters: Amanda (Matt) Fitch and Melissa Roth; and a sister, Esther Kertz of St. Genevieve, MO.
Upon his request, Bill was cremated and services will be held at a later date.
