Granite City Fire Department Battle Shed And House Fire Monday Morning

GRANITE CITY- Granite City Fire Department battled a shed fire Monday morning in the 2400 block of Bryan Ave.

When firefighters arrived on scene a shed was fully involved and had spread to an occupied house next door. Firefighters quickly were able to get the fire under control. The shed was a total loss and the house sustained significant damage.

” The shed was supposed to be torn down by the city today. We are unsure of the cause of the fire at this point” Granite City Fire Chief Rich Wilson said. The fire is being investigated by the Granite City Fire Department and ATF was also on scene to help. No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross arrived on scene to help the family that was displaced by the fire.
