Godfrey And Other Area Fire Departments Battle Christmas Eve Structure Fire

GODFREY – The Godfrey Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 7000 block of Humbert Road on Christmas Eve night.

When firefighters arrived on scene the home had smoke and flames showing. Godfrey Fire Department requested a Box-Alarm which Fosterburg, Brighton and QEM Fire Departments responded to the scene. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly, but the home sustained significant damage and is unhabitable.

Madison County EMA were on scene to help the family out and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department helped with traffic control. No injuries were reported.
