Martin Arthur Hedlund, age 64 of Collinsville, IL, born March 14, 1957, in Chicago, IL, passed away on December 25, 2021.
Martin worked as a technician for 20 years at I-SYS Security Company and also worked as a master mechanic for the former Bo Beuckman Ford in Collinsville for over 10 years. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, scuba diving, and riding motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Charles Hedlund; two step-fathers, Delbert Kueker and John Rimar, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Bill Ohlendorf.
He is survived by his mother, Ardyth (nee Dickey)Kueker-Rimar of Collinsville, IL; two brothers: Steven (Sharon Spicer) Hedlund of Staunton, IL and John (Ann) Rimar, Jr. of Edwardsville, IL; three sisters: Debra Ohlendorf of Charleston, SC, Linda (Larry) Atkinson of Edwardsville, IL and JoDe (Lennie) Dietch of Chicago, IL; five nieces: Samantha (Derrick) Hedlund-Beckham, Jenna (Craton) Ohlendorf-Simpson, Ashlyn (Mason) Ohlendorf-Gibbons, Andrea (Johnny) Fox and Laura (Justin) Frawley; and nephew, Carmen Dietch.
Memorial visitation will be 1 – 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL. Due to current state restrictions, masks are required to be worn.
Memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dale Skeesick officiating.
Memorials may be made in Martin’s honor to Shriner’s Hospital for Children and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
