Thomas Rosselot

Thomas Edward Rosselot, beloved husband and father, passed away on December 25, 2021, at the age of 69 after struggling with kidney failure and complications that arose from the disease.

He was born to Clarence and Edith (nee York) Rosselot on April 6, 1952, in St. Louis, MO.  He was a retired meat cutter of over 40 years, and was a foster parent for over 30 years, adopting five children within his lifetime.  His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and carpentry.  He also enjoyed spending time and taking trips with his family, whom he would do anything for.  He once went to an ice cream shop late at night in his pajamas, which consisted of a white undershirt tucked into high-waisted shorts and tube socks, just to get his wife ice cream.

Thomas will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was a rock to his wife and kids, a source of silent encouragement and unconditional love.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret McMillan and Barbara Rosselot; father-in-law, Edwin R. Wiegers; brother-in-law, Gregory R. Wiegers; niece, Sarah Wiegers; and nephew, Dylan Schottel.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy Rosselot (nee Wiegers); his children, whom he loved more than words and actions could convey:  Timothy (Jessica), Megan, David, Zachary, and Liam; his grandson, Jay Legens, who was the apple of his eye and brought him so much joy and love; his sister, Carolyn (Ernest) Rowley; mother-in-law, Rosemarie Wiegers; sister-in-law, Mary Wiegers Schottel; three brothers-in-law:  Michael (Patty) Wiegers, Edwin Thomas (Martha) Wiegers, and Mark (Julie) Wiegers; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved friend and “brother”, Truc (Trinh) Truong.

Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL.  Due to current state restrictions, masks are required to be worn.

Memorials may be made in Thomas’ honor to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or to the family to help with expenses. Memorials will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home.
